A reintroduction…
In continuing my blog and deciding when and what I wanted to write about each day, I realized there are moments when my inner voice has just a few words it needs to release. Not enough for a 1,000-word blog post with photos — just a thought, a truth, or a whisper to myself. Sometimes to lift me up, sometimes to let me cry out.
On this journey toward, and in embracing, empty nesting, I’ve learned that it isn’t always fun or uplifting — and being single plays into that reality. But I refuse to accept that empty nesting “sucks.” I refuse to accept that being single “sucks,” too (ha).
I’ve decided to journal about it — in simple terms, in texts, in moments that capture the raw truth. And I know you have your own moments, too. Our journals are our safe places, but they also reveal something powerful: we’re not alone in what we feel.
That’s why Dear Journal isn’t just about me — it’s about us. I’m inviting you to join me in rewriting the rules of what this stage of life can look like. We are the women who don’t wait for permission, who live with elegance and courage, who own our stories — even the messy ones — and share them to inspire, heal, and connect.
Here, you can submit your entries openly or anonymously. Share moments of joy, laughter, embarrassment, sorrow, or your requests for encouragement — all are welcome. There are no rules or wrong answers, no fear and no judgment. Your words will be posted exactly as submitted, with your name omitted if you wish.
Your story matters. My story matters. Our stories matter. Together, we’ll show that this is not a comeback — it’s a breakout.
